ORIENTATION TO
WORD PROCESSING: Some students
need extra help at first with word processing. Next week, you will use the Word Manual, GDP, and Microsoft Word to complete
Practice exercises in the Word Manual and document processing jobs in
the textbook.
You will also use the Reference Manual
and GDP routines such as Start Work, Edit Work, Scored Results (aka Proofreading Viewer),
Browse, and Submit. All document processing jobs are graded and some are designated as
Proofreading Checks.
You weekly assignment sheets
include enough information to complete these tasks.
But, if you prefer an in-person orientation, I will announce the date,
time, and
location for the in-person orientation. Check your e-mail. |

to now, you have used MAP+ for additional skillbuilding drills. In this
lesson, you will use
MAP+:
Alphabet. This routine begins with
a diagnostic pretest
that includes alphabet keystrokes only followed by a diagnostic analysis of
up to 80 different types of misstrokes for that
pretest. MAP+ then displays a list of prescriptive drills for you to type to
address your specific keystroking weaknesses. This diagnostic program is unique to
GDP and is an extremely powerful tool that helps pinpoint your keystroking weaknesses and
provides customized prescriptive drills to fix them. See
